The Tunisian Commerce Office (OTC) has announced an exceptional program to regulate the supply of green coffee and support professionals in the sector. This initiative comes after several months of tensions and shortages that led to an increase in prices and disruptions for roasters and consumers.
According to A press release from the OTCquantities of green coffee are now available exclusively for professionals, who are invited to contact the distribution centers to stock up. The objective is to ensure the continuity of their activity and the availability of coffee on the market.
The Ministry of Commerce completes this measure by a national distribution plan, providing for the weekly injection of 50 to 100 additional tonnes. The use of a digital application and the prioritization of the roasting units initiated must allow a more effective distribution and put an end to tensions.
This initiative marks an important step towards stabilization of the market, with the hope of guaranteeing a regular supply for professionals and, indirectly, for consumers.
