A remarkable increase in citrus exports was recorded between October 17, 2024 and May 8, 2025, reaching 12,455 tonnes, an increase of 46% compared to the same period of the previous season (8,510 tonnes), according to the latest statistics published by the National Observatory of Agriculture (ONAGRI).
In value, these exports generated 37.74 million dinars, compared to 29.45 MD a year earlier, an increase of 28%.
The Maltese variety remains at the top of the exported citrus fruits, alone representing 45% of the total volume, with approximately 5.6 tonnes sold. It is followed by Navel (30%) and lemon (22%).
Libya remains the first destination for Tunisian citrus fruits, absorbing 6.55 tonnes, or 52.6% of the total exported. Then come France (45.8%) and, more marginally, the Gulf countries (1.4%).
