The Chinese manufacturer GRITSIL, a global specialist in silicone components for the automotive industry and electric mobility, is closely examining investment opportunities in Tunisia. A strategic meeting at TIA highlighted the country’s potential as a competitive nearshore platform.
The Tunisian Investment Authority (TIA) welcomed a delegation from GRITSIL, a leading Chinese group in the field of silicone components intended for electrical harnesses, electric mobility applications and advanced battery systems.
Accompanied by the Tunisian Automobile Association (TAA), the delegation learned about opportunities for establishment in an industrial ecosystem that is rapidly moving upmarket. This visit is part of an approach aimed at bringing GRITSIL closer to its customers and strengthening the resilience of its global supply chain.
A nearshoring strategy that converges on Tunisia
GRITSIL is accelerating its nearshore repositioning in order to reduce logistics times, secure its industrial flows and diversify its production bases.
During the discussions, the group’s representatives highlighted the quality of the Tunisian automotive ecosystem, in particular the presence of international wiring players, the technical skills available locally, operational competitiveness, and the geographical location of the country, ideal for supplying the European and African markets.
This convergence of assets places Tunisia among the options seriously considered by GRITSIL as part of its global strategy.
A strong signal for Tunisian industrial positioning
The TIA underlined its availability to support GRITSIL in the feasibility study of an industrial investment in Tunisia. The institution presented investment incentive schemes, administrative facilitation mechanisms, as well as regulatory developments in favor of innovative and eco-responsible industries.
This support aims to provide a clear and attractive framework for manufacturers seeking to establish themselves in a market close to Europe and integrated into global value chains.
This meeting confirms Tunisia’s desire to strengthen its status as a regional hub in the automobile, electromobility and advanced technologies. The interest of a major player like GRITSIL constitutes an additional indicator of the rise of the Tunisian ecosystem and its capacity to attract investments with high added value.
