The Ministry of Commerce and the Promotion of Exports announced, Thursday, the revival of its special program intended to regulate the supply and prices of poultry meat. The operation, already active in the Grand Tunis, will be extended this week to 13 other governorates.
The system provides for the direct sale of chickens at a price set at 8 dinars per unit, for an average weight greater than 1.1 kg. A global quantity of more than 18,000 kg will be sold this week, especially in working -class districts and priority areas, in coordination with local and security authorities.
Strong crowds and continuation of the program
The ministry ensures that the program will continue in the coming weeks, with volumes and a distribution rate, reinforced, but also a widening of coverage to other regions and partner suppliers.
This measure is part of the national strategy aimed at improving purchasing power, stabilizing the supply of basic products and fighting against any price handling.
The ministry also invites citizens to point out any irregular offense or practice likely to harm market transparency, via the 80100191 green number or the contact details of the regional trade departments available online.
