The accusation chamber specializing in financial corruption affairs, under the Tunis Court of Appeal, has decided to send Chawki Tabib, former president of the national body to fight corruption (INLUCC) and ex-Bâtonnier of the National Lawyer’s order, before the criminal chamber of the Tunis court of first instance, reports the Mosaique FM radio.
This decision is part of an instruction on the management of the INLUCC during the period when Chawki Tabib assured the presidency. The expenses chosen against him concern suspicions of financial embezzlement and poor administrative management.
At the same time, the Chamber decided to classify the prosecution undertaken against a second accused, for lack of convincing elements.
According to the same source, justice has also rejected the request for the lifting of the travel ban made by Chawki Tabib, a protective measure still in force.
