The Minister of Equipment and Housing, Salah Zouari, recognized this Wednesday, May 21, 2025 that his ministry shared responsibility with the municipalities in the slowness of the granting of building permits, a process closely linked to urban development plans, the pace of development of which remains insufficient.
Expressed on the occasion of the inauguration of the 18ᵉ edition of the Medibat Construction Fair, organized at the Palais des Expositions et des Congrès of Sfax by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Zouari insisted on the need to strengthen coordination between the various public actors.
He notably underlined an active collaboration with the governor of Sfax to accelerate the development plans, which would improve the process of delivering building permits and slowing down the expansion of anarchic buildings.
Before his speech, the minister made a visit to the stand stands, welcoming an edition marked by the participation of 15 African and European countries, more than 300 exhibitors, and partnership meetings aimed at boosting the sector.
Salah Zouari has also said that the building sector will experience several advantages in the coming period to revive economic growth. He spoke of a revival of activity through the revival of many unanswered projects, support for building companies and the publication, during the second half of 2025, of tenders for new projects.
