Following the dissemination of information circulating on social networks concerning a supposed suspension of bank credits beyond 15 years, the banking and financial advice (CBF) published a press release to restore the facts.
In this text, the CBF recalls that Tunisian banks remain fully committed to applying the regulations in force, in particular law n ° 41 of 2024 amending the Commercial Code, and more specifically article 412. These institutions also affirm their desire to continue to support the economic activity of the country, including the granting of habitat credits of a duration of up to 25 years.
This development aims to deny rumors evoking restrictions in access to long -term financing, while reiterating the efforts of banks to support citizens in an economic context marked by challenges related to purchasing power.

• Banks, and unlike certain messages circulating on social networks, continue to boost economic activity and grant housing credits for durations that can go up to 25 years in the context of savings plans, in accordance with the regulations in force. The BCT and the CBF are currently in consultation to set up financial products to boost access to the financing of the housing taking into account the deterioration of purchasing power. In addition, banks have launched new digital payment instruments, such as deferred payment solutions, made available to customers since October 2024.
However, the CBF is available to the general public and the media to respond without time to all the information requested for the communication and popularization of banking and financial practices.
