The president of the Destourien Libre Party (PDL), ABIR Moussi, appeared this Thursday morning before the criminal chamber of the Tunis court of first instance, in the context of a case brought against her by the independent higher body for the elections (ISIE).
The case concerns charges related to attacks presumed to independence of the electoral body and to disturbances of public order during political actions carried out by the PDL.
During the hearing, ABIR Moussi refused to participate in the debates, denouncing an act of dismissal which she considers as “unconstitutional” and “contrary to international conventions”, according to his words at the helm.
ABIR MOUSSI, is prosecuted by the Isie in this case after declarations made at a press conference in December 2022, where she criticized the legislative electoral process of December 17, 2022.
It is continued under article 24 of Decree-law n ° 54 on crimes related to information and communication systems.
The criminal chamber decided to postpone the examination of the case to May 15, 2025. Knowing that Abir Moussi has been in detention since October 3, 2023 and has been the subject of several other legal proceedings, two of which are brought by ISIE.
