After the drama of Mazzouna, where three high school students died following the collapse of a dilapidated wall, the deputy Abderrazak Oueidat submitted a request for the holding of an urgent dialogue session with the Minister of Education, Noureddine Nouri.
The deputy Abderrazak Oueidat confirmed, in a declaration to Mosaic FM, this Tuesday, April 15, 2025, having submitted a request office of the Assembly of People’s Representatives for the holding of an urgent dialogue session with the Minister of Education, in accordance with article 114 of the Constitution and article 131 of the internal regulations of the Parliament.
According to him, thirty-seven deputies have signed the request, at present, believing that many institutions suffer today from negligence, and not only educational establishments.
Recall that the drama that has occurred in Mazzouna, reveals the alarming state of school infrastructure in Tunisia. While more than 4,500 establishments out of 6102 requires urgent work, thousands of students study in buildings without water, without electricity, sometimes even without fences.
The Ministry of Education, which should be interviewed by the ARP, visited Sidi Bouzid, shortly – a week before the drama, on April 8, without seeing or without denouncing the state of dilapidation of the premises. In November 2024, he promised renovations as part of an increased budget for his department.
