The Assembly of People’s Representatives adopted a bill approving a loan agreement concluded with the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development. This loan aims to finance the project to widen and rehabilitate the national road n ° 20 in the governorate of Kébili. The text was voted with 102 votes for, 4 abstentions and 13 against.
The Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Abdelfattah, said that the amount of the loan amounts to 70 million Tunisian dinars, intended to cover the development of this road over a length of 73 kilometers. The total cost of the project is estimated at around 82 million dinars, excluding taxes.
The Minister also indicated that the loan is accompanied by a fixed interest rate of 3% with a reimbursement period of 30 years, including 4 years of grace.
This project is part of the efforts to improve road infrastructure in the interior regions, often landlocked and un served.
The modernization of this strategic artery should facilitate economic exchanges and improve the mobility of the inhabitants of Kébili and the neighboring areas.
