During a joint ARP–CNRD plenary session devoted to her department’s 2026 budget, the Minister of Industry, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, revealed that the control missions carried out in 2024-2025 uncovered numerous regulatory violations. Twenty files were sent to the judicial system and four to the Court of Auditors. The ministry claims to be strengthening its anti-corruption policy.

A series of checks that highlight serious offenses

Before both chambers, the minister detailed the results of the inspection missions carried out by the General Inspectorate between 2024 and 2025. Thirty operations were carried out: in-depth checks, partial inspections and administrative investigations. The majority is now finalized.

These checks resulted in two types of referrals:

  • 20 files transmitted to the judicial system for offenses subject to criminal prosecution;
  • 4 files addressed to the financial justice system, in particular to the Court of Auditors, for management errors and administrative irregularities.

For Fatma Thabet Chiboub, these results demonstrate increased vigilance against excesses in establishments under the supervision of the ministry.

Inspections, joint actions and clarified procedures

The minister explained that these missions are part of the national anti-corruption strategy. In addition to internal inspections, the ministry conducted operations coordinated with the High Administrative and Financial Control Committee, as well as unannounced missions triggered in the event of serious indications of excess.

The department also monitored reports from the General Inspectorate and external control structures, in collaboration with the control body of the Presidency of the Republic.

To prevent new offenses, circulars were sent to the institutions under supervision to clarify procedures and fill administrative gaps.

Concluding her speech, Fatma Thabet Chiboub invited the deputies to transmit to the ministry any file or document linked to corruption. This call aims to strengthen the department’s responsiveness and broaden the alert sources for future control missions.
