On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, a cooperation agreement was signed between several Tunisian and international institutions, aimed at encouraging the investment of young people in the agricultural sector, particularly in the center of the country.
This initiative was marked by the presence of Ezzeddine Ben Cheikh, Minister of Agriculture, and Hamadi Habaeib, Secretary of State for Water Resources.
The agreement, signed between the agricultural investment promotion agency (APIA), the Directorate General of Rural Engineering, the Tunisian Solidarity Bank (BTS) and the German Technical Cooperation Agency (GIZ), aims to facilitate access to financing for young farmers. It is part of the project to enhance irrigated areas, funded by the African Development Bank and implemented in the governorates of Kairouan, Kasserine and Sidi Bouzid.
The Minister stressed the importance of this initiative to energize agricultural entrepreneurship and strengthen the sector as a lever for sustainable economic development. The ceremony also brought together representatives from each partner institution, uniting their efforts to offer new opportunities to young agricultural investors.
