The criminal chamber specializing in transitional justice cases at the court of first instance of Tunis examined the file relating to the excesses recorded within the company Al Karama Holding.
The case concerns former officials of the confiscated property management commission as well as former executives of the company. At the end of the hearing, the court decided to postpone the examination of the file.
A file linked to the management of confiscated property
The proceedings relate to alleged excesses occurring during the management of Al Karama Holding, a company responsible for administering property confiscated after the revolution. The investigations target in particular officials who chaired the commission for managing confiscated property, in addition to senior executives of the company.
The case is part of the cases handled by transitional justice, relating to the management of public assets and the administrative and financial responsibilities linked to it.
The specialized criminal chamber decided to postpone the examination of the case until a later hearing. This referral is motivated by the absence of the legal quorum required to rule on the case.
Next hearing set for May 4, 2026
According to the information communicated, this situation follows the assignment of the president of the judicial formation to other jurisdictions, preventing the full composition of the chamber, reports Mosaique fm.
The court set the next hearing for May 4, 2026, pending the completion of the legal composition of the competent judicial panel.
Until this date, the case will remain in abeyance, awaiting the normal resumption of the work of the specialized criminal chamber.
