The Cité des Sciences de Tunis announced that, according to astronomical calculations, Eid al-Idha should be celebrated on Friday, June 6, 2025.

The month of Dhou al-Hijja 1446 would begin on Wednesday May 28, and the day of Arafat, Thursday, June 5.

The lunar croissant could be visible in Tunis on Tuesday, May 27 after sunset, under certain conditions. It would be observable in the telescope, even with the naked eye if the sky is cleared, the moon being then aged 3 p.m. and 28 minutes.

The majority of Muslim countries that set the start of Dhou al-Qa’da on April 29, on May 27 would correspond to 29 Dhou al-Qa’da, an observation day.

According to the CST, the visibility of the moon will vary according to the region: it will be invisible in the extreme southern areas, visible in the telescope in certain parts of Africa, Asia and America, and potentially visible to the naked eye in Europe, North Africa and the North of the American continent.
