The Mufti de la République, Hichem Ben Mahmoud, confirmed Tuesday evening that the first day of the month of Dhou al-Hijja 1446 of the Hegira will be Wednesday May 28. This date was established at the end of the observation of the lunar crescent, validated both by the religious authorities and by astronomical experts, in agreement with the previous announcement of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to the MUFTI, Arafat day will fall on Thursday, June 5, 2025 (9 Dhou al-Hijja 1446), while the Eid al-Iid festival will be celebrated on Friday June 6, 2025 (10 Dhou al-Hijja 1446).
