A young man was placed in pre -trial detention this Friday, April 11, 2025, after being filmed throwing stones on a train from the fast rail network (RFR) at the Manouba station.
The incident, widely relayed on social networks, has aroused indignation of Internet users, in a context already tense around security in public transport.
The public prosecutor at the Manouba court of first instance issued a warrant for deposit against the individual, identified shortly after the facts thanks to video surveillance images and the recordings broadcast online.
Wael Amdouni, the first substitute of the public prosecutor and spokesperson for the court, said that the young man was in intoxication at the time of his arrest by the security units. It was apprehended on Thursday, April 10 by the Manouba police, before being presented to the prosecution.
This act of vandalism is not isolated. Since the commissioning of the RFR, several cases of stones or degradation jets have been reported, threatening the safety of passengers and drivers.
The judicial authorities now claim to want to rage more firmly against this type of behavior, described as “serious attacks on public order and national infrastructure”.
