A Tunisair plane had to interrupt its journey and make an emergency landing at Algiers international airport following a serious health problem affecting a passenger. The traveler, of Moroccan nationality, was immediately taken care of by emergency services before being transferred to a hospital in the Algerian capital. The incident did not affect the safety of other passengers.
A flight of the Tunisian national company Tunisair linking Casablanca to Tunis was forced to make an emergency landing at Algiers international airport after the sudden deterioration in the health of a passenger on board.
According to Algerian media sources, the crew made the decision to interrupt the flight in order to allow rapid medical treatment, in accordance with the procedures in force in the event of a health emergency during the journey.
Upon landing, the airport emergency services took charge of the passenger, a Moroccan national, whose condition required rapid intervention. She was then evacuated by civil protection teams to the Mustapha Pacha university hospital in Algiers to receive the necessary care.
The airport authorities indicated that the intervention took place under normal conditions and that coordination between the crew and the emergency services enabled rapid and efficient treatment.
An emergency device activated without major incident
Algiers international airport has a permanent medical team, which can be mobilized at any time to deal with critical situations. This system was once again activated without major disruption to air traffic, the incident having had no consequences for the other passengers on the flight.
This episode recalls the strict protocols applied by airlines and airports regarding the safety and health of travelers. The diversion decision, although operationally restrictive, ensured rapid medical treatment for the passenger concerned.
No information has been communicated at this stage on the continuation of the flight or on the evolution of the state of health of the traveler.
