The official spokesperson for the National Guard, General Houssemeddine Jebabli, denied Thursday evening the statements allocated to him and relayed on social networks, saying that it was a manipulation of content.
Dorting comments circulating on social networks had said that “Tunisia had experienced an exceptional and horror night during which the police carried out one of the most difficult and dangerous operations against drug networks”.
In a radio intervention this Friday morning on the waves of Diwan FM, Jebabli denied these rumors and recalled that “the national campaign to combat drugs, launched on the instruction of the President of the Republic since last October, is still continuing”.
This operation, according to him, made it possible to dismantle several networks of traffickers and to arrest some of their main members involved in the promotion and smuggling of narcotics.
The spokesman said that joint operations between security units and those of the National Guard continue to target dealers and smugglers.
