The national airline Tunisair transported 1,185,890 passengers between October 2024 and March 2025, thus recording an increase of 6% compared to the same period of the previous year, according to a press release published this Friday.
The filling rate also experienced a clear improvement, reaching 75.1%, compared to 69.8% a year earlier, a gain of 5.4 points.
On the geographical level, the most striking increase concerns traffic from Europe, with an increase of 14%. This region represents 825,243 passengers, mainly carried by the French market, which alone concentrates 46% of global traffic.
A slight increase of 1% was observed on the lines serving sub -Saharan Africa (71,736 passengers) as well as Canada.
The last quarter of 2024 was particularly dynamic, with a leap of 16% of the number of passengers compared to the 4ᵉ quarter 2023, far exceeding the annual average. The filling rate over this period has increased by 5.5 points, while passenger revenue increased by 12%.
The trend continued in April 2025: Tunisair transported 224,115 passengers, an increase of 4%compared to April 2024. The filling rate reached 80%, up 7 points, while the revenues increased by 2%.
On the spending side, the company managed to reduce its 19% fuel invoice over the quarter. In addition, it lowered its debt level by 18% thanks to the reimbursement of its credits, and improved its liquidity by 11%.
