Zara withdraws a campaign against boycott calls

Zara withdrew on Monday an advertising campaign presenting models with missing members and statues wrapped in white on the first page of its website and its application, after having aroused calls from certain pro-Palestinian activists to the boycott of the fashion retailer.

Inditex, owner of Zara, said that the change was part of its normal content refreshing procedure.

The company did not comment on the boycott calls, but said that the “Workshop” collection was designed in July and that the photos were taken in September. The war between Israel and Hamas began after October 7.

By revealing on her official Instagram account the photos of her new advertising campaign, the famous Spanish clothing brand Zara has sparked a real wave of anger on social networks.

And for good reason, this advertising campaign has exploited the suffering of Palestinians using images of white shrouds, corpses and coffins, etc., images that have been circulating throughout the world since the start of the war in Gaza and the atrocities committed by the Zionist entity.

On X (Twitter), the hashtag #boycottzara, now viral in several Arab countries, calls for expressly boycotting the Spanish brand or even banning it, qualifying this inhuman campaign. Enough to force Zara to delete certain images from her accounts. On X, all the photos relating to the indignation of Internet users have been deleted.
