The Houthis in Yemen confirmed on Saturday August 30, the death of their Prime Minister, Ahmad Ghaleb al-Rahwi, as well as several other ministers, after Israeli strikes which hit the capital Sanaa on Thursday. This attack has eliminated the highest Houthi official since the start of the Israeli assault in Gaza.

The movement indicates that the officials participated in a government meeting. Several ministers were injured, some seriously. Mehdi Al-Machat, head of the Supreme Political Council Houthi, promised reprisals against Israel and asked the foreign companies present in the country to leave quickly.

The Houthis, supported by Iran, launch attacks against Israel to support the Palestinians. They recently resumed missile and attack fire in the Red Sea and in the Gulf of Aden against ships linked to Israel. On Wednesday, they claimed a missile shot intercepted by the Israeli army.

The Houthis appointed Mohammed Ahmad Mouftah Prime Minister interim. The movement claims that the government will continue to operate despite the loss of its main officials.

The war in Yemen made hundreds of thousands of deaths and caused one of the worst humanitarian crises in the region. Since 2014, the Houthis have controlled Sanaa and the north of the country. The internationally recognized government headquartered in Aden.

Can these strikes ask a question: can a state assassinate ministers from another country without international reaction? Israeli raids in Sanaa show that government officials can be eliminated and that the world observes in silence. We kill ministers, and no one intervenes.
