The United States has decided to suspend the division of information with Ukraine, in parallel to the suspension of its military aid, the CIA director, John Ratcliffe, announced on Wednesday March 5.
This decision follows growing tensions between Washington and kyiv, exacerbated by a recent stormy exchange between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky in the White House.
The American government has paused its arms deliveries and its intelligence support, confirming a re -examination of the relationship with Ukraine. According to National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, this decision stems from an in -depth reassessment of all aspects of this strategic cooperation. However, signs indicate that this break could be short -lived, with a return to collaboration in the near future.
This freezing of crucial information, which mainly focused on military information collected by the United States, represents a major setback for the Ukrainian army. So far, the information provided by the United States had played a key role in planning the strikes against Russian positions, offering kyiv an important strategic advantage. This support allowed Ukraine to carry out targeted and effective operations in the field. The withdrawal of this aid will therefore have immediate consequences on the ability of the Ukrainian army to carry out military actions against Russia.
Although European allies continue to support Ukraine, their intelligence capacities are not comparable to those of the United States, which puts the Ukrainian army in a more vulnerable position. The situation is particularly worrying for Ukraine, which largely depends on American information for its defense.
Despite this increasing pressure, Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his desire to find a peaceful outcome to the conflict. During an interview with the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, he said that a sustainable peace was possible if the efforts were coordinated with the United States and Europe.
The Ukrainian president also sent a letter to Donald Trump, expressing his will to negotiate a peace with Russia. The Ukrainian government seems to be ready to find a compromise, although the situation remains uncertain and complex. Trump, for his part, said he was ready to work with Ukraine to achieve a solution.
