The Qatari television channel Al Jazeera announced the martyrdom of its correspondent in the Gaza Strip, Ismail Al Ghoul, as well as its cameraman Rami Al Rifi, following a bombardment led by the Israeli occupation forces on their location.
This tragedy has covered the number of martyrs’ journalists since the start of the war on October 7, according to information provided by the Government Office in Gaza to 165. The situation of journalists on the ground remains extremely dangerous, while they continue to cover events despite the risks.
It is important to recall that the Israeli occupation forces had already stopped and mistreated Ismail Al Ghoul last March. The latter had been arrested at the Al Shifa hospital, the largest medical complex in the Gaza Strip, during the second intrusion of the occupation forces into this establishment.
In addition, the journalistic community was deeply marked by the loss of Hamza Al Dahdouh, the son of journalist Wael Al Dahdouh. Hamza was killed last January during an Israeli bombardment targeting journalists west of Khan Younès, south of the Gaza Strip.
