Tunisia welcomed the cease-fire decision applied in Libya since yesterday, Sunday January 12, 2020, and considered that it is an important step to save the blood of the Libyans and calm the situation.
“This decision will open the way at the end of military operations in the country and will allow a return to dialogue and negotiation under the auspices of the United Nations and in the context of respect for international legitimacy,” it is said.
In a press release published by the Presidency of the Republic last night, it called on all the Libyan parties to commit to respecting the ceasefire, reaffirming its refusal of military solutions and its adhesion to dialogue and consensus as the only means of taking up the political process within the framework of a Libyo-Libyan dialogue which leads to a solution preserving the sovereignty, stability and territorial integrity.
