The UN General Assembly claimed on Tuesday evening from an overwhelming majority “an immediate humanitarian ceasefire” in Gaza.
It is a non -binding resolution but which puts pressure on the Zionist entity which faces a loss of global support against the background of blind bombing on the Gaza Strip.
The text was adopted by 153 votes for, including Tunisia, 10 against including Israel and the United States, and 23 abstentions on 193 member states.
This emergency meeting of the General Assembly followed a meeting of the Security Council on Friday, which failed to adopt a similar resolution.
The draft resolution was not adopted by the Council due to the veto of a permanent member-the United States. 13 members of the Council voted for and the United Kingdom has abstained.
