Tunisia, Arab member of the Security Council, asked for a meeting of the Security Council for tomorrow Monday, May 10, and this in coordination with the Palestinian part and the support of China, current president of the Council, Norway, Ireland, Vietnam, Saint-Vincent-et-les Grenadines and Niger.

The aim being to discuss the serious escalation which results from the assault of the Israeli authorities against the occupied Palestinian territories, in particular in Al-Quds and the invasion of the Esplanade of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, we read in a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians abroad made public on Saturday evening.

A meeting which also aims to shed light on the violence of the authorities of the occupation against the Palestinians and on the persistence of its expansionist policy which obeys aims of annexation by the demolition and the expropriation of houses belonging to Palestinians, the expulsion of Palestinian families and the attack on the historical and civilizational status of the city of Al-Quds.

The request for the holding of the meeting of the Security Council is presented at the call of the President of the Kais Republic Saied starting from the firm position of Tunisia and their support for the Palestinian people in their struggle to recover their legitimate rights and create an independent state with al-Quds al Charif for capital, underlines the same source.

These practices, castigates the Department of Foreign Affairs, constitute a blatant violation of international law and a threat to international peace and security and comes to undermine efforts to establish a just and global peace in the region.
