The President of the Kaïs Saïed republic maintained, on Saturday August 16, with his Algerian counterpart Abdelmadjid Tebboune. This exchange follows the drama the day before in the town of El Harrach, east of Algiers.
Friday, August 15, a bus carrying many passengers left its trajectory on a bridge before diving into the wadi. Civil protection has confirmed a heavy assessment: 18 dead and 24 injured, several of which in serious condition. The rescue intervention started around 5:45 p.m., shortly after the fall of the vehicle, mobilizing significant means to evacuate the victims and secure the area.
During the telephone exchange, Kaïs Saïed presented, on his behalf and on behalf of the Tunisian people, his most sincere condolences to the bereaved families. He expressed his deep solidarity towards the whole of the Algerian people and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded. He also prayed for the relatives of the missing to find the strength and patience necessary to cross this test.
The Tunisian president reaffirmed the proximity and the fraternity that bind Tunisia to Algeria. He insisted on the importance of the common values of solidarity and mutual support between the two neighboring countries.
