During his speech to the Israeli Parliament (the Knesset), the former American president Donald Trump experienced an unexpected moment of tension. While speaking on Israel’s security and bilateral cooperation, two Israeli MPs held up protest signscausing a brief interruption of the session.
According to images relayed by the international media, these elected officials, clearly opposed to certain positions of Trump, were quickly evacuated by the security services. The speech then resumed without major incident, to the applause of part of the assembly.
This symbolic gesture highlights the internal divisions within the Israeli political class regarding the presence and statements of the former American president, still a controversial figure on the international scene.
Trump, visibly unaffected, quipped after the return to calm:
“This proves that democracy works. »
This scene, although brief, sparked significant reactions on social networks in Israel and abroad, reminding us that any speech by Donald Trump continues to provoke debate and confrontation.
