Economic damage due to the coronavirus are beginning to be felt in Italy where the lack of workers appeared. The government has decided to regularize undocumented workers to reduce the impact of the COVVI-19.

This exceptional measure, called “recovery decree” was adopted this Wednesday, May 13, 2020 by the Italian government which decided to regularize undocumented migrants for a period of six months.

The regularization of many undocumented migrants will logically be accompanied by the regularization of many whose residence permit has expired. In total, this decision concerns 600,000 people.

But the Italian government judge the judge necessary for the economic damage due to the coronavirus knowing that the fruits could deteriorate this year, because of the shortage of labor following the coronavirus pandemic, but the Italians also have needs for caregivers and foreign nurses.

Only people already present on Italian soil before the date of March 8, 2020 are affected by this regularization and will have to demonstrate this. They will also need an employment contract.
