This measure would be unimaginable in Tunisia! To relaunch the catering sector, the British government pays 50% of the addition of customers!

Particularly affected by the health crisis, the catering sector, was the subject of particular attention in Great Britain where governments have put in place to say the least unusual.

British Minister of Finance, Rishi Sunak, announced that the state would take charge of half the amount of additions in restaurants in August, reports the BBC.

A 50% discount in all restaurants, cafes and participating pubs across the United Kingdom, which is part of the “eating outside to help” government plan and which aims to relaunch the sector, but which does not take into account alcohol consumption. Better yet, the offer can be used an unlimited number of times.

This measure which aims to bring back “customers in restaurants, cafes and pubs” aims above all to protect “the 1.8 million people working there,” said the British Minister of Finance

Other measures will be adopted as a drop in VAT from 20% to 5% for the next six months for “take -out dishes of restaurants, cafes and pubs, hotels, guest rooms, campsites, cinemas, theme parks and zoos”.
