Sweden suspended, this Wednesday, October 6, Moderna’s anti-Cavid vaccine for those under 30 “as a precaution” on Wednesday, due to a risk of heart inflammation in young people, the probability of which remains “minimal”.
The Swedish Public Health Agency (FHM), in charge of the vaccination campaign, “decided to break the use of the Moderna Spikevax vaccine for all those born in 1991 and after, as a precautionary principle,” she said in a statement.
This decision is made “after increased risk signs of side effects such as inflammation of myocardial and pericardium,” said the Swedish authority.
According to the agency, the risk is more marked after the second dose and in male subjects. “But the risk of being reached is minimal, it is a very rare side effect,” she says.
