The UN Human Rights Council adopted this Friday, April 5, 2024 in Geneva, a draft resolution calling for arms sales in Israel, which is engaged in a war against Hamas who have already left more than 33,000 dead in Gaza according to the Palestinian Islamist movement.

This is the first position of the Human Rights Council on the conflict which made more than 30 thousand martyrs in Gaza. The draft resolution was still amended Thursday to rule out the reference to the concept of genocide, according to the TF1 channel.

The resolution expresses “his deep concern in the face of information reporting on serious violations of human rights and serious violations of international humanitarian law, in particular possible war crimes and crimes against humanity” and in front of “the determination of the International Court of Justice according to which there is a plausible risk of genocide”.

On March 25, 2024, the UN Security Council adopted for the first time a resolution requiring an “immediate ceasefire” in Gaza.
If the United States has blocked such a resolution several times, this time it has abstained.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres praised the Security Council for a resolution of a resolution for a cease-fire “immediate” in Gaza and the release of hostages on Monday, believing that not applying it would be “unforgivable”.
