According to this famous virologist, “we are witnessing the first endemic wave of Sras-Cov-2 this winter. In my opinion, the pandemic is over, “he said in an interview with the Tagesspiegel newspaper.
Virologist Drosten explained in the interview that the population has built great immunity against the coronavirus. In fact, it has become a winter virus, which, according to him, is unlikely to spread en masse in summer.
Mr. Drosten, however, put a downside to his evaluation: changes can change the situation. “But I don’t expect it for the moment,” he said.
If the World Health Organization (WHO) has not yet declared the end of the pandemic. WHO officials said this fall that the end was “in sight”. In Germany, Drosten’s words are taken seriously.
