The head of American diplomacy Antony Blinken will carry out his fourth tour in the Middle East in the space of three months.
He must go to Israel, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt. As well as in the occupied West Bank, in Türkiye and Greece, during a fourth tour in the Middle East since the start of the war in Gaza, on October 7.
The displayed objective of this visit is to discuss how to prevent the conflict from expanding, in an extremely tense regional context after the assassination of a senior Hamas leader in Lebanon.
He will argue in particular “immediate measures to be taken to increase humanitarian aid in a substantial manner” in the Gaza Strip, and “will discuss specific measures that the parties can take, in particular of the way in which they can use their influence with other countries in the region, in order to avoid climbing”, told the press of the State Department, Matthew Miller on Thursday.
