The results of the fires which currently ravage northern Algeria has increased to 77 dead, including 28 soldiers and 37 civilians who perished in these fires which started Monday evening in Kabylia, especially in the Tizi Ouzou region, according to official reports.

Dozens of fires fueled by the heat wave began on Monday evening in northern Algeria, causing many victims and around twenty people who have disappeared to date.

Algerian president Abdelmadjid Tebboune has declared a national mourning of three days from tomorrow, Thursday August 12.

According to the Prime Minister, Benabderahmane, more than 70 fires broke out in 18 wilayas (prefectures) in the north of the country.

In addition, Algerian public radio has announced the arrest of three pyroomans in Médéa (North) where a fire also started. A fourth was arrested in Annaba, according to the APS.

Recall that the President of the Kais Saied proposed proposed to Algeria to provide him with an airplane to contribute to the rescue efforts.
