Mohamed Mohamed, a new Damascus ambassador to Tunis, was sworn in before the Syrian president, Bashar Al Assad, announced, yesterday, the Syrian news agency Sana.
On this occasion, the Syrian president gave him his instructions, wishing him full of success in his mission.
For its part, Tunisia had appointed, in April 2023, Mohamed Mhadhbi as an extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador in Syria, after 11 years of rupture of diplomatic relations.
A rupture of diplomatic relations between the two countries on a decision as unjustified as “misunderstood” of ex-president Moncef Marzouki whose controversial alliance with “En-Nahdha” has greatly damaged Tunisia and its interests.
