The fairly funny story of this motorist of Tunisian origin has not gone unnoticed. Indeed, according to local French media, the motorist living in the Paris region and leaving for Tunisia was intercepted, recently, by the police north of Lyon after having managed to hold a refrigerator, a washing machine, a gas, bikes and furniture in and on his vehicle!
“A real tetris which caused it to break the law on the authorized weight of a vehicle since it exceeded the maximum threshold,” indicate these media.
As “Le Progrès” specifies, the motorist started from Essonne and managed to travel 400 kilometers without being arrested. His van was finally put on the rocking. And it displayed a surplus… of 2.5 tonnes.
The individual was forced to unload what weighed the heaviest and leave everything on the spot. He also had to pay a fine of 360 euros, adds the same source.
Each summer, the French police are facing similar practices exercised in particular by motorists of Maghreb origin who go on vacation during the summer in their countries of origin.
