A strong explosion sounded on Sunday afternoon in the shopping and highly frequented Istiqlal in the heart of the big city.
According to a first assessment, six dead and 58 injured were identified.
“The authors of this vile attack will be unmasked. That our population is sure that the authors will be punished, “said Recep Tayyip Erdogan, two hours after the explosion.
“Unfortunately, in the explosion that took place today in the Street Istiklal, the number of deaths has increased to 6 and the number of wounded at 53,” said Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya on Twitter.
