Saudi Arabia will send two astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS). Takeoff is scheduled for Sunday, May 21 in Cap Canaveral, in the United States.
Two astronauts, a man, Ali Al-Qarni, and a woman, Rayyanah Barnawi, will join the international space station. For a little over a week, they will participate in several scientific experiments as well as in awareness programs for Saudi students, explain Saudi media.
This private mission is organized by Axiom Space. This is the second trip to the ISS planned by this American company. A first, AX-1, had taken three businessmen and a former astronaut spending two weeks aboard the ISS in April 2022.
