In a speech delivered during the annual high mass this Thursday, February 29, 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a series of warnings in the West, saying that Russia has weapons capable of reaching targets on its territory. With the situation in Ukraine, Putin defined Russia’s priorities two weeks from a presidential election which he should win without surprise.
Putin expressed her desire to establish new alliances with the Arab, Latin American and African countries, despite the sanctions imposed by Western countries after the invasion of Ukraine. He denounced Western threats, describing them as a real risk of nuclear conflict and claiming that without sovereign and strong Russia, there cannot be global stable.
The Russian president accused the Western countries of Russophobia, warning them that Russia has weapons capable of defeating them on their own territory. He also said that NATO widening to Sweden and Finland threatened the security of Western Russia, saying that alliance forces are preparing to strike Russian territory.
Putin also praised the advances of the Russian army on several fronts in Ukraine, declaring that the military capacities of the Russian armed forces have been multiplied and that they advance with confidence. Finally, he accused the West of wanting to sow discord in Russia and of seeking to weaken the country from the interior, but assured that these attempts turned out to be in vain.
