Egypt announced, this Thursday, October 19, 2023, the “sustainable” passage from humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip via the Rafah crossing point when hundreds of aid trucks are stationed there.

“Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi and US President Joe Biden agreed on the routing of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip via the Rafah Terminal in a sustainable manner,” said the presidency spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy in a statement.

A little earlier, US President Joe Biden announced that Egypt has authorized the entry into Gaza of around twenty humanitarian aid trucks. Joe Biden, who made a visit to Tel Aviv on Wednesday, said that he had obtained the Egyptian president to “let up to 20 trucks cross” in the passage of Rafah, the only one who is not controlled by Israel.

Joe Biden, however, said that this aid could probably not arrive before Friday due to work to do on the road.

27 tonnes of Russian humanitarian aid

Russia has also claimed to deliver 27 tonnes of humanitarian aid to civilians in the Gaza Strip soon.

The Russian ministry for emergency situations announced yesterday that the country will deliver 27 tonnes of humanitarian aid to civilians in the Gaza Strip from Egypt.

“A special plane (…) flew from Ramenskoïe aerodrome, near Moscow, to El-Arich airport, in Egypt. Russian humanitarian aid will be given to the representatives of the Egyptian Red Red Crescent to be sent to the Gaza Strip, “said Vice-Minister Ilia Denissov quoted in a press release, without specifying when this plane took off. “The population will receive flour, sugar, rice (and) pasta,” he added.
