For the first time in more than ten months, Israel does not report any daily death linked to the coronavirus. Thus, the number of people who died in the virus remained blocked at 6346 Thursday April 22, 2021.
Only 129 new cases of COVID-19 for a total of 837,870 confirmed cases were recorded, the rate of positive tests falling to 0.4%.
The explanation is simple: the drop in mortality and infection rates are decreasing, from the peak of the pandemic to the end of January, thanks to a massive vaccination campaign which has already seen more than 5 million people, or almost 58% of the population, receive both doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
Except that Israel has also undergone strict locking and imposed severe travel restrictions to get there.
