During the night from Monday to Tuesday, Israel intensified its bombings on the Gaza Strip, leading the deadliest attacks since January.

Israel has led a series of air strikes on the Gaza Strip, killing more than 300 people, including many children and women, according to medical sources on site. These attacks arise as a cease-fire has been in place since January 19.

Hamas accuses Israel of having perpetrated a “treacherous attack” against defenseless civilians to torpedo the Truce agreement, while Islamic jihad speaks of “deliberate sabotage”. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu justifies these strikes by a lack of progress in negotiations on the extension of the ceasefire.

The Gaza Ministry of Health announces a catastrophic assessment: 48,577 dead and 112,041 injured since the start of the war. The local government’s media office evokes more than 61,700 victims, including the missing under the rubble.

The Trump administration and the White House were consulted by Israel before these strikes. Observers believe that Israel has never intended to respect the second phase of the agreement, aimed at ending the conflict. Instead, Tel Aviv extended the first phase while modifying the conditions of the ceasefire.
