The number of Tunisians detained in French prisons is estimated at 1117, out of 17,198 detainees, almost half of which come from the African continent, according to figures published by “Le Figaro”.
The Algerians occupy first place in the number of African prisoners in French prisons, their number reaching 3,472 out of 9793 people of African nationalities, followed by Moroccans with 2220 detainees, and 2984 detainees from the rest of the African countries.
According to these statistics, the prisons of France house 5109 European prisoners, 880 Asians and 1308 Americans, mostly from the south of the continent.
