The satirical weekly had been the subject of new terrorist threats. Three people were injured, including two seriously, in a stabbing attack near the former premises of Charlie Hebdo, in Paris.
According to the French police, cited by several local media, the author of the assault is on the run.
BFMTV reports in this sense that “an important security device has been deployed and the town hall of the 11th arrondissement has decided to complete schools, crèches and residences for the elderly while the suspect is apprehended”.
Five years after the attacks, the editorial staff of the satirical weekly is still threatened and benefits from significant police protection.
Charlie Hebdo had decided to republish the caricatures of the prophet Muhammad who had made the satirical weekly a target of the terrorists.
