Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Thursday that the opening of a “new front” against Israel in the Middle East would be conditioned on the “actions” of the Israeli State in the Gaza Strip.
“The officials of certain countries ask us about the possibility of opening a new front (against Israel) in the region,” said the Iranian diplomacy chief.
“Our clear response concerning these possibilities is that it all depends on the actions of the Zionist regime in Gaza,” he added, according to a statement from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Speaking from Beirut Airport, the High Diplomat repeated that the regional allies of Iran (Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas and other groups), known informally under the name of “Resistance axis”, could react in the event of the escalation of the Israeli offensive in Gaza.
