The services of the French Interior Ministry will launch, in the coming days, a “massive action” and “unpublished” against mosques suspected of separatism. This is in any case what announced yesterday Wednesday, December 2, the French Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin on Twitter.
“76 mosques suspected of separatism will be checked in the coming days and those which will have to be closed will be,” he detailed.
According to information cited by Le Figaro and AFP, Darmanin sent all the prefects a note on November 27 detailing the action to be carried out.
Of these 76 places of worship, 18 will be targeted by “immediate actions” at the request of the Minister of the Interior, who can go as far as closing, indicate in this sense several French media.
It is also announced that out of the other 15 places, five are located in large Parisian crown or in the immediate vicinity of the Île-de-France region and 10 elsewhere in France.
