The cease-fire agreement between Hamas and Israel entered into force, this Friday, November 24, 2023, provides for the exchange of 50 Israeli hostages held by Hamas for 150 Palestinian prisoners, as well as a lust of the fighting for four days while 6,700 Palestinians would be detained in Israeli prisons.
The agreement concluded Wednesday provides for the exchange of fifty women and children held by Hamas for 150 Palestinian prisoners. In this context, the Zionist entity has published a list of 300 names of prisoners likely to be released out of the 150 detainees who will actually be released.
On this list are 33 women, 123 boys under the age of 18 and 144 young men aged about 18, from occupied West Bank or Al Quds-Est, reports the Israeli NGO Hamoked.
Most of the Palestinian prisoners appearing on this list, await their trials for accusations ranging from incentive to the jet of stones to the attempted murder, according to Hamoked.
If Hamas demanded the release of all the Palestinian prisoners, including the 550 sentenced to life imprisonment, suddenly or by phases -a request rejected by Israel -, the Zionist entity approved on Wednesday the release of 150 Palestinian prisoners.
In total, 6,700 Palestinians are said to be in prison in the Hebrew state, according to Hamoked’s latest report, dating from November 1, 2023, but several prisoners have died since the war, October 7.
Among the Palestinians imprisoned, 2,300 people were sentenced, including 550 in life prison, 2,300 are awaiting trial and 2000 are in administrative detention. A number that has never been so high in the past twenty-five years.
