France faces a worrying health alert. Yesterday, the Ministry of Agriculture announced the death of two people and the infection of 21 others by listeriosis, a disease of food origin. One of the victims suffered from pre -existing health problems.
According to the authorities, infections are linked to soft cheeses produced by the Chavegrand cheese dairy, in the Creuse. Consequently, more than forty lots have been recalled everywhere in France and internationally. Consumers must stop consuming these products.
These are pasteurized milk cheeses, soft or flowery or washed crust, such as camemberts, coulommiers, creamy, bries, gorgonzolas and goat logs. These products were marketed until August 9, 2025 throughout the national territory as well as internationally, under different trademarks. All bear the health mark from 23.117.001 CE/EU.

The health authorities recommend a particular vigilance for pregnant women, the elderly and those whose immune system is weakened. In addition, they advise to monitor symptoms such as fever, headache and muscle pain. Listeriosis can evolve seriously, and its incubation period can reach up to eight weeks.
