At least 21 people, including 11 who expected aid, were killed by the Israeli army this Saturday, June 21. Since the end of May, 408 people have lost their lives by trying to obtain this humanitarian aid in a besieged territory and hungry by the war.
The Gaza Strip was again bereaved on Saturday by a series of deadly strikes by the Israeli army, causing the death of at least 21 Palestinians across the territory, according to local medical sources cited by the Palestinian press agency WAFA.
Among the victims were 11 civilians who died while they expected humanitarian aid. West of Rafah, southern Gaza, six people were killed and ten others injured near a distribution of aid targeted by Israeli fire. A similar attack on a highly frequented crossroads of the Nuseirat camp, in the center of the band, has cost the lives of five civilians and made at least 15 injured.
In the city of Gaza, an air raid led to Al-Mansoura Street, in the Shuja’iya district, killed three brothers belonging to the same family. Three other Palestinians died in the Zeitoun district, also targeted by a strike. In Khan Younis, a civilian was killed in the northwest of the city.
These violence is part of the Israeli military offensive launched on October 7, 2023, which continues tirelessly. According to the Palestinian authorities, the military campaign caused the death or injured around 186,000 people, mostly women and children.
More than 11,000 people remain missing, while the population is under an acute humanitarian crisis. Famine, in particular, has already caused the death of many civilians, especially among the youngest.
International calls to a ceasefire and the protection of civilians remain for the time being without effect, while the humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate at an alarming pace in the Palestinian enclave.
